John Mastropietro

John (Masto) Mastropietro, 61, of Westerleigh passed away surrounded by his family on May 12th, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, his high school sweetheart, Sandra (nee Lisi), his daughter Carolyn Sica, her husband John, his son Neal and his wife Samantha. Cherished Poppy to Giovanni and baby girl Sica arriving in October. Loving brother of Michele Caliri and her husband Rick. Dear Son in law of Peter and Rachel Lisi, Fond brother in law of Linda & Fred Coombs, Jennifer & Joseph Chapman and Peter Lisi. Admired uncle to many nieces and nephews and a devoted friend to many.

John was predeceased by his beloved parents Barbara and Aniello (Red) Mastropietro, as well as his sister Irene Mazza.

John served as a member of the FDNY from 1984 until his retirement in December 2001. Over the years he was an active member of the Staten Island community. He was the Vice President of Mid Island Little League and a coach at Staten Island Boys Football League. After his retirement he partnered with James McBratney, his lifelong friend to open Jimmy Max of Great Kills in October 2008. In 2017, John became of the Operations Manager of Jimmy Max in Westerleigh. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and especially loved their Saturday date nights. He spent his mornings with his grandson and best buddy Giovanni, always being there to bring him to school. John was always just a phone call away for anyone or anything that was needed. He was a jack of all trades. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Arrangements are being handled by Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Avenue. Friends are welcome Monday, May 15, 2023 from 4:00pm- 8:00pm and Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, May 17th, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Church with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
