

John was born on January 30, 1939, in Staten Island to the late John Charles Morris and Marie Elizabeth Lucas Morris. He graduated from St. Peter’s High School in 1956 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Economics from Fordham University in 1960. He then served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964, before earning an MBA in Finance from Wagner College in 1968. Throughout John’s career, he worked in finance at Peat Marwick Mitchell, Goldman Sachs, and then served as Vice President at Salomon Brothers, and Managing Director at Warburg Paribas Becker specializing in cross border investment banking. John shifted to private finance and consulting as Vice President at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and Merrill Lynch Canada. John served on the board of trustees of Staten Island Savings Bank, Carmel Richmond Nursing Home, and Richmond County Country Club.
In 1963, John married Alice DiIorio, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised three children, John, Robert, and Steven. John was also a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Caroline, Steven, Chloe, Anastasia, Elizabeth, John, Alysse, and Lorelei. John enjoyed his annual traditions of spending summers in Montauk and his anniversary in the Poconos with his family.
John is survived by his wife, children, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. He was wonderful and devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. John will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
