John Paul Norton, 78 of Port Richmond died on February 2, 2019. He was born in Manhattan. He attended St John the Baptist and then Curtis High School. He served in the US Navy for 4 years attaining the rank of E-3. He worked as a technician for the N.Y.C.T.A. He was a parishioner of St. Roch’s Parish. He was a member of the NYC Emerald Society, the Ancient Order of the Hibernians, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. In 1994 he was the NYC Emerald Society’s Irish person of the year. His hobbies and interest include Hawaii, coffee, Guinness, books, Jameson’s, visiting family and genealogy. John’s family would like to thank the staff of SIUH Telemetry and CCU Units. John is survived by his wife of 54 years Patricia Norton (Nee Cunningham); two children Coleen Daddino and Sean Norton; a grandson Matthew Daddino; two sisters Stella Polk and Margaret Gannon; two brothers Patrick and Dennis Norton. He is predeceased by his father Alfred and his mother Stella as well as a brother Richard. Funeral from Casey Funeral Home, Castelton Corners, Thursday Mass 10AM St. Roch Church. Interment Fairview Cemetery. Friend will be received on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9.
