Joseph L. Marano

Joseph L. Marano, 70 Owned Headquarters Salon Joseph L. Marano, 70, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016, of natural causes at his home in Oakwood. Joe was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Staten Island at the age of five, lived in New Jersey for a number of years, and subsequently moved back to Staten Island in 2010. A memorial service will take place at Virginia Funeral Chapel on Friday, June 17, from 4 to 8 p.m. Joe was the owner of Headquarters Salon in Oakwood which he operated for 43 years after first working there for a number of years. During his career he owned three other salons throughout Staten Island. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served on numerous ships throughout his tenure. He was an avid golfer and loved nothing more than to spend time with his sons. Joe was the son of the late Joseph Marano and Mary Marano (nee Nigro). He is survived by his twin sons, Joseph and Jesse, who were his pride and joy. In addition to his sons, he is survived by his sister, Adeline (Addi) Carlo and her children.
