

Joy DePalma, born on June 5, 1949, in Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted companion of 50 years, Barbara, and her loving brother, Michael.
A true New Yorker at heart, Joy was a dedicated fan of the New York Yankees, finding joy and excitement in every game. Her professional life was marked by unwavering loyalty and commitment, having been a valued employee of Equipable Insurance Company for 40 years.
Joy and Barbara found great solace and happiness in their many restful vacations in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, their cherished home away from home. These retreats were filled with tranquility and joy, reflecting the deep bond they shared.
Joy had a profound love for cats, and she was an avid fan of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Her taste for the finer things in life included a fondness for Johnny Walker Black, which she enjoyed with friends and family.
Joy will be remembered for her steadfast loyalty, her love of music and sports, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and the many who were touched by her kindness and passion.
A visitation for Joy will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Ave, Staten Island, New York 10308. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Clares Church, 110 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A committal service will occur Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:15 AM at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Ave, New York, NY 10309.
