June was born and raised in West Brighton and was a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church. She graduated from St. Peter's High School for Girls in 1949 and maintained those friendships with her classmates for over 70 years.
Upon graduation from high school, June held various positions traveling to the City each day until she left the corporate workforce to raise her family. She later returned to work for Verizon where she held various positions until her retirement in 1988.
She met her husband, Billy in high school and they married in 1953. Together they raised their three children and built a successful business, Woodbridge Auto Body. Upon retirement from Verizon, June spent much of her time between Staten Island and Pompano Beach, FL. June was an avid and passionate golfer. She was a member of The Silvettes and LaTourette Women’s Golf Club for many years. One of her favorite accomplishments was hitting a hole in one at South Shore Golf Course on September 1, 2005,
June loved a good time and nothing meant more to her than her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, the beach and seeing the sights, especially if it meant playing an unknown golf course along the way. She took the game quite seriously and if you happened to be playing with her, be sure not to hold up the game or lose your last golf ball. She was generous to a fault but at the same time not too quick to hand over one of her good golf balls if there was a chance you might lose it. She enjoyed spending the winters in Pompano Beach and met many wonderful friends there.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, William Laub as well as her parents, James and Elizabeth Reilly, and 6 siblings John Reilly, James Reilly, Vincent (Buddy) Reilly, Doris Conte, Kathleen Lynch and Veronica Cook.
She is survived by her devoted children, Missy, Billy (Marilda) and Shelly (George) as well as her five grandchildren: Caitlin Laub, Timothy Laub, Daniel Rubin (Kate), William Rubin and Anna Rubin. She joyfully became a great grandmother to Daniel Rubin Jr. in September.
She leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply. Her children will be forever grateful to the “cousins” for the care, support and attention given to June over the years.
Her memory will live on through her family and many friends with whom she shared so many wonderful times. There was much love and many laughs crammed into those 93 years and it provided a wonderfully rich life.
Visitation for June Laub will be at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314 (p) 718-447-4242 on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Church, 981 Castleton Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310
