

Karen "KK" Kollar, 75, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, in Staten Island, New York. Born on July 5, 1950, Karen dedicated her life to caring for others and serving her faith. A graduate of Brookdale Nursing School in 1972, Karen pursued a career as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. Her compassion and dedication touched countless lives during her years of service. Later in life, she also served as a chaplain, offering spiritual guidance and comfort to those in need.
Karen was deeply devoted to her faith. Her love for gardening brought her joy and peace, and she found purpose in missionary work that reflected her commitment to helping others.
Karen is survived by her children: daughter Jesse Izzo, son Jonathan Burk, and son Michael Burk. She was predeceased by her husband Steve Dwyer and son Steve Dwyer.
Family and friends are invited to honor Karen's memory at a viewing on Tuesday, March 10, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home, located at 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314.
A Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 11, at 10 a.m., also at Casey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Karen's legacy of kindness and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
