

Born Lillian McCaffrey in Manhattan, she moved to Annadale in 1957 and settled in Manchester several years ago.
She graduated from the Mary Louis Academy in Queens and attended Hunter College in Manhattan for two years. She also attended the College of Staten Island.
Mrs. McAuley enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and listening to music, especially Perry Como.
"She was a loving mother and a very intelligent, compassionate woman who appreciated life," said her daughter, Cecile Laflamme.
While living on the Island, she was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot, and later attended Holy Child R.C. Church, Elltingville.
Her husband of 48 years, Joseph T. McAuley, died in 1996. Her son, Joseph D. McAuley, died in 2012.
In addition to her daughter, Cecile, surviving are three more daughters, Rosemary Hazan, Annmarie Miller and Christine McAuley, and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
