Linda Jean Tucker peacefully passed away at her home in Lady Lake, Florida, July 2, 2016 at the age of 65. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at the Virginia Funeral Home, 1707 Hylan Blvd., S.I., NY 10305, family will receive friends from 5pm to 8pm.
Linda Jean was a native Staten Islander, raised in South Beach, and a graduate of P.S. 46 and the old New Dorp High School. After training at The Wilfred Academy she then studied with Vidal Sassoon in London and Paris, meritoriously advancing to hair designer and makeup artist for film, TV, and theater. Linda Jean applied her artist talents at a number of well-known and famous salons and bridal shows in the NY and NJ areas, eventually winning a first place award for hair styling.
Linda Jean was an accomplished hair designer, her creations were adored by many famous and popular celebrities across the country from Broadway to Hollywood, often travelling with film crews and casts who availed themselves of her extensive knowledge and expertise regarding early black and white film noir period styles. Linda Jean last applied her professional training and talent for The Oprah Winfrey Network at their studios in Midtown Manhattan, located in the very same building [formerly The National Biscuit Company] where her parents met.
Linda Jean was a God-fearing and Christ-centered prayer warrior whose faith penetrated the hearts and minds of so many as she relentlessly served her Lord and Savior; she was a truly gifted petitioner of her Heavenly Father's grace and mercy, a woman blessed with special gifts and talents which she generously shared with others.
Linda Jean will be sorely missed by all who knew her, especially by her brothers who will forever feel the deep sorrow of the loss of their baby sister.
Linda Jean was the daughter of the late Red and Jenny Tucker and is survived by her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas & Carol Tucker and Dennis & Diane Tucker and her loving cousins and many devoted friends.
