She was born on 9/23/31 to Arthur and Eleanor Erickson in Elltingville and raised her family in Huguenot. She was predeceased by her husband Charles after 60 years of marriage, her sister Dorothy Hurst and her son Charles Jr.
Lois graduated from Staten Island Community College and the College of Staten Island with degrees in Psychology and Nursing. She retired from the Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities in 1988. After retiring Lois and Charles moved to Cranberry Lake NJ and then Budd Lake after Charles’s death.
An active member of St Michael‘s church in Netcong NJ she served as a Lector, Eucharistic minister, choir member, and CCD teacher. Lois was also active in the Byram Senior Citizens organization and the cranberry lake community club. She had received awards as both Senior of the year and Volunteer of the year. She enjoyed gardening, the lake, volunteering, bowling and watching many sports on TV.
She is survived by her children Michael (Gail), Kathleen Bernardo (Frank), Steven (Lisa) and her companion Jim Yanovich. She is also survived by her brother Arthur(Carol). She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
