Louis Joseph D'Elia, 76, born and raised in Staten Island, NY, passed away on November 2, 2026. A man of steady devotion and quiet strength, Louis will be remembered with deep respect for the life he built and the many people he cared for along the way.
Louis graduated from Curtis High School and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Palm Beach, Florida. His work life reflected both diligence and versatility. He served at South Beach Psychiatric Center, owned a delicatessen, and also worked as a chef—roles that spoke to his reliability, his work ethic, and the pride he took in providing for others.
Louis was married to his wife, June D'Elia, for 47 years, and would be celebrating their anniversary on November 20th. Together they raised their children, Joseph and Wayne, and welcomed their daughter-in-laws, Catherine D'Elia and Donna Smith, into the family. Louis was a proud grandfather to Anabelle, Annalise, Ryan, Michael, Christina, Brittany, Arianna, Justin, Nicolette, and Stephanie (in heaven), and a great-grandfather to 8 great grandchildren.
In his personal life, Louis found joy in both competition and camaraderie. A former college basketball player, he also enjoyed playing bocce, billiards, and shuffleboard. He especially loved calling bingo—bringing energy and warmth to the moment, and making simple gatherings feel like something special.
He will be greatly missed by all those who love him dearly.
