She was brought to Staten Island and raised in Port Richmond where she attended St Mary's School and then graduated from Port Richmond High School. She was also an avid New York Yankees fan, and she would take her niece, Jennifer and nephew, Matthew to Yankee games, and even went as far as to take Jennifer to Kansas City to see the Yankees play the Royals.
"She was a fun-loving, care free, hard-working and helpful woman who loved spending time with her family, especially her great-nephews and great-nieces. If she could do it she would do it - anything for family and friends. She will truly be missed and will always have a special place in my heart," said her niece, Jennifer Welsh.
She was described by her nephew, Matthew Caroccia as being one of the most special women in his life."She wasn't just an aunt, she was like a second mother to us."
