

Native Staten Islander enjoyed family, friends, and bingo
Lucy Franceschini passed away Jan. 13, 2018. The funeral is Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, from Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills. Mass is 10 a.m. at St. Ann R.C. Church. Interment is in Ocean View Cemetery. Visiting is Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Born April 7, 1924, in Tompkinsville, Lucy loved to share memories of her grandfather's house, and all the chickens he owned. She played the flute in the Curtis High School band, and loved to go dancing at the Staten Island piers, where she met her husband, Aldo. They were married after World War II, on Aug. 3, 1947.
Lucy lived for more than 50 years at the Berry Houses, where the neighbors always greeted her respectfully as Ms. Lucy. Her favorite pastime was bingo at St. Ann's Church.
She worked as a nanny for Dr. Jacobson for 10 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Aldo, after 50 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Richard and Irene; grandchildren, Russell, Keri, Gilda, Ryan, Miles, Adam Aldo, and five great- grandchildren.
