Mrs. Margot M. Lowell, daughter of the late Henry A. Harrison II and Grace Hickey, was born July 22, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York. She attended St. Brendan’s High School and was a graduate of St. John’s University. Margot was confirmed at the Church of the Ascension on Staten Island, where she was a dedicated member until her death. She served faithfully in several capacities, including running their Vacation Bible School in the summers and as a member of the vestry.
Margot was a devoted teacher at P.S. 31, and an active member of the Red Hats Society. She loved to travel, and these adventures took her as far as China, Argentina, London, Paris and Hawaii. The friends Margot made during her years of teaching and with the Red Hats were a great source of happiness for her, and she will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Saturday, April 20, 2019, surrounded by her children and friends.
Her rich and full life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children and their spouses: David M. Lowell and Pamela Lowell, Anne C. Pace and Daniel Pace, Russell G. Lowell and Linda Lowell, Steven M. Lowell and Wendy Barbee-Lowell; 5 grandchildren: Angela Pace, Russell Lowell, Daniel Pace, Melanie Lowell, Stephanie Pace; 4 step grandchildren: TJ Champean, Bobby Hochstaedt, Jonathan Kruger, and Morgan Kruger; devoted siblings and spouses: Henry A. Harrison III and Arlene Harrison, Cecily A. Geraghty and the late Thomas Geraghty, Gregory Harrison; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was pre-deceased by her companion and friend, Joseph Demeter.
