Maria Soledad Broadway, a beloved resident of Willowbrook, Staten Island, passed away on January 10, 2024, at the age of 95. She was born in San Jose, Mesila, Zaxateca, Mexico, and her life was filled with love, family, and a passion for her craft.
Maria dedicated her career to the art of upholstery, working diligently as an upholsterer for Island Upholstery. Her skilled hands and meticulous attention to detail transformed countless pieces into works of art. Maria took great pride in her work, ensuring that each project was completed with precision and care.
Outside of her profession, Maria found joy in various hobbies. Sewing and knitting were her creative outlets, allowing her to express her artistic flair. She delighted in crafting beautiful garments and intricate designs that showcased her talent. Additionally, Maria enjoyed the thrill of playing bingo and cherished the friendships she made at the local bingo hall.
Maria's greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment shared with them, creating lasting memories and imparting her wisdom and love. Maria's devotion to her family was evident in her unwavering support and nurturing nature.
Maria was a faithful member of St. Rita's Church, finding solace and strength in her faith. She actively participated in church activities and was known for her kindness and compassion towards others.
Maria was preceded in death by her loving husband, Andrew Broadway, with whom she shared 47 beautiful years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her children, Jose Barajas and Guadalupe Bridges. Maria is survived by her grandchildren, Mark Barajas, Michael Barajas, and the late Jason Bridges, who will forever cherish the love and guidance she provided. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Casey, Samantha, Mark, Jada, and Michael Barajas, who brought immense joy to her life.
Maria was the daughter of Salviador F. Ramos and Maria Luz Rodriguez. She is survived by her siblings, Belen Morquecho, Domingo Ramos, Lidia Lara, Salvador Ramos Jr., and Martha Ramos, who will continue to honor her memory. Maria was preceded in death by her siblings, Jesus Ramos, Carmen Castrellon, Carlos Ramos, Rosa Diaz, and Celia Ramos.
Maria Soledad Broadway will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm smile, loving heart, and unwavering dedication to her family and craft will forever be cherished.
