Maria Pappas

Maria Pappas, 87, of Dongan Hills, passed away at home on Jan. 3, 2017. A native of Cyprus, she was the owner of the Victory Diner and a member of Holy Trinity/St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Her interests included cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. Maria was predeceased by her spouse, Paris, in 1982. She is survived by her sons, Nick (Robyn), Andrew (Kathryn) and Steve; grandchildren, Nicholas (Theresa) and Marina; great granddaughter, Lola; sister, Augusta and her husband, Gus Theodorou; nieces, Maria (Panikos) Antoniou and Theodora (Thomas) Clear, and other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends. Services are being handled by Casey Funeral Home. Funeral is Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity/St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Interment: Cypress Hills Cemetery. Visiting is Monday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, make contributions to Lewy Body Dementia Association.
