Devoted mother and grandmother; great grandmother. Daughter of Helen and Joseph Donnellan of Staten Island. Born October 21st 1930. Resided in West Brighton, Port Richmond and for the part of 50+ years in Westerleigh.
Graduated from St. Peter’s High School for girls and St. Elizabeth school of Nursing. Then went to work at Willowbrook State School as head nurse for 5 years where she met her future husband, Eugene Perry. They married in 1953, a marriage that lasted 60 years. (A surprise party was given them at the Staaten by their sons.) Eugene died in 2014.
Mother of 4 sons. Predeceased by her 2 older sons, Mark and Steven. Survived by Michael and his wife Bette Ann and Thomas and his wife Roseann. Also survived by her grandchildren Christopher, James, Jennifer, Justin, Lauren and Mathew, and great granddaughter Ophelia.
She returned to the workforce after raising her family in 1968 as a supervisor at both Verrazano Nursing Home and Silver Lake Nursing Home.
She enjoyed having dinners, reading, gardening, and attending sports events of her grandchildren, shopping and travelling.
After retiring she and her husband Gene travelled by car to 49 of the 50 states, Nova Scotia and Vancouver British Columbia. Then they cruised to Bermuda, the Caribbean, Alaska and the Panama Canal.
