

Marlene A. Elia, 91, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026 with family by her side. Born November 13, 1934, Marlene was a proud Staten Island resident for most of her life and lived in Chatham, NJ for the last three years.
Marlene graduated from St. Louis Academy in Staten Island, NY. A dedicated professional, she spent 16 years working for pediatrician Dr. McCormick, and later managed her husband’s medical practice. Her reliability and caring approach ensured that every office she managed ran smoothly and efficiently
Marlene was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Dominic Elia, with whom she shared 19 years of marriage until his passing in 1987. Together they had two sons, Dominic (who predeceased her) and Paul. She was also a loving stepmother to Robert, Michael, Douglas, Stephen and Gregory. Her family continued to grow through her grandchildren, Jonathan, Claire and Jack, and her step-grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Michael, AJ, Mark, Eric, Sean, Adam, Kateri, Suzanne, Kimberly, Jessica, Christian, Alayna, Alexandra, and James. She is also survived by her daughters-in-laws, Margaret (Russo) and Christine (McDermott).
A pillar and active member of Christ Episcopal Church, Marlene’s faith was expressed through her actions and dedication to the community. She was a regular staple in the kitchen helping to cook for the big church events over the years. Marlene also warmly welcomed everyone to her home where her legendary dinner parties turned friends into family. Full of energy, she found joy in cooking and in bringing friends together with her good food, generosity and the grace of someone who understood that hospitality is its own kind of care. Marlene’s legacy will live on in the family she nurtured, the community she served, and the many memories she so lovingly created.
Visitation will be held at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314, on April 23, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 76 Franklin Ave, Staten Island, NY 10301, on April 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, 52 Tyler Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310, on April 24, 2026, from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm.
