

Born in Brooklyn, he moved to Grant City in 2004.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952, and then worked as a printer for several years before taking a job as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
An accomplished musician, he played the bass drum, bagpipes and snare drum. He was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church Bagpipe Band and the St. Columcille Bagpipe Band in Brooklyn. He met his wife, a fellow bagpipe player, at the church.
He loved spending time with his children, and often took them ice skating and swimming when they were young. Mr. King was also a member of the Holy Name Society.
His wife, Eileen, died in 2006.
Surviving are a son, Martin; a daughter, Marie, and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills, with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Christopher's R.C. Church, Grant City. Burial will follow at the Cemetery of the Resurrection, Pleasant Plains.
