Born in Boston, she was a graduate of Curtis High School. She was a Chemical Bank manager for more than 33 years.
Compassionate, caring, and generous, Mary was always willing to help people in their time of need. She enjoyed cooking, interior decorating, sewing, knitting, TCM movies, reading, and Broadway plays, and was involved in animal rescue and adoption.
Mrs. Ares was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, George A. Ares. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Ares-Tabick and son-in law, Robert E. Tabick
Visitation is Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home. Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament, with interment in Moravian Cemetery.
