

Born Mary Scimone in Manhattan, she attended Washington Irving High School and moved to Brooklyn at the age of 22. She settled in Great Kills in 1970.
Mrs. Ginetto worked as a seamstress for the former Jack Papparo & Sons for 25 years. She retired in 1980. She also worked as a cook on the weekends at St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills, for 10 years.
She was a member of the Great Kills Friendship Club.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, listening to opera music and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
"She was a very independent woman as reflected in her learning how to drive at the age of 57 when her husband passed away," said her daughter-in-law, Grace Ginetto. "She was generous with her time with anybody she came in contact with. Her witty remarks will be missed."
She was a parishioner of St. Clare's Church.
Her husband of 34 years, Anthony, died in 1975.
Surviving are two sons, Charles and Anthony; one sister, LaLa LoPresti; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare's Church. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
