MaryEllen Price

MaryEllen was born on July 8th, 1953, at Staten Island Hospital to Charles and Myrtle Betts. A lifelong resident of Staten Island, she was deeply connected to her community and the people she loved. She attended Sacred Heart School in West Brighton and St. Peter’s High School in New Brighton. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Hunter College and her MBA from Wagner College. MaryEllen dedicated more than 40 years of service to Staten Island University Hospital, where she retired as Assistant Director of HIMS/Coding.

Above all, MaryEllen treasured her family and the time she spent with those she loved. She enjoyed walking her beloved dog, Tucker, traveling, decorating her home for the holidays, and spending time with family and friends. One of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren grow and cheering them on in their sports and activities. She was also a proud member of the Korean War Veterans Association and a Columbiette at Holy Family Parish.

MaryEllen will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to her family and for the special place she held in the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will live on through the stories, traditions, and countless moments she shared with those she loved.

MaryEllen is survived by her sons, Daniel William (Melissa) and Christopher James (Melissa); her five grandchildren, Brendan, Lily, Emma, Ava, and CJ; her sister, Elaine Betts Deitch (Lionel); and her brother, Henry Betts (Barbara). She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
