May DiMartino (nee Mazzola), 90, born in Dongan Hills, passed away on May 11, 2016 in Stamford, CT, where she resided for the past 12 years. She attended McKee High School and was a homemaker.
May was the beloved wife of WWII veteran Joseph S. DiMartino who passed away in 2001. She was the loving mother of Stephen, Joseph and Peter DiMartino and mother-in-law to Marie, Carolyn and Catherine. May was the cherished sister of two (2) brothers, four (4) sisters and one surviving sister Adeline LaSalvia. May was also blessed with 8 grandchildren, Joseph, Charles, Eva, Michael, Gianna, Wendy, Marc and Matthew.
May was a parishioner at St. Ann’s Church and attended mass every day. Together with her husband, they contributed to the expansion of St. Ann School. She loved being around her family, cooking and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday May 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Virginia Funeral Home 1707 Hylan Blvd., Dongan Hills, Staten Island. Funeral will be held Monday 11:45 am at St. Ann’s Church Dongan Hills and internment in Moravian Cemetery.
