Born in Puerto Rico, he moved to Brooklyn in 1968, to Mariners Harbor in 1971, and to Rosebank in 2004.
He was a maintenance worker for the College of Staten Island for 23 years, retiring in the early 1990s.
He repaired cars as a hobby for his relatives, neighbors and friends. He liked to sing and listen to music.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Ramona Mercado; five daughters, Yolanda and Miriam Rosa, Elizabeth Rivera, Denise Costis and Tayra Rosario, and 11 grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners. Burial will be held on Saturday in Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, N.J.
