

Born in Lebanon in 1942, Najat graduated with a degree in law from the University of Saint Joseph in Beirut. In 1966, she married her adoring husband Elie Chebli. Shortly after getting married, they emigrated to the United States and settled in Canton, Ohio. In 1973, they moved to New York City and raised their family in Staten Island.
Najat was the epitome of a devoted mother and grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional, selfless and unending love. Her children and grandchildren were the very essence of her existence, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and cherishing them. Whether it was cooking their favorite meals and sweets, reading them bedtime stories, or just spending time with them, she always showered them with love and affection, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Najat was happiest when her loved ones were gathered in her home, filling her house with laughter and sharing a meal she had lovingly prepared. With each family gathering, she created a legacy of love and togetherness that will be cherished forever.
Najat is deeply missed by her adoring family, including, her husband of 58 years, Elie Chebli; her four children: Tania Chebli of New York, New York; Dr. Joseph Chebli (Caroline) of Venice, Florida; Leslie Colandrea (Eric) of Staten Island, New York and Brian Chebli (Michele) of Brooklyn, New York; her eight grandchildren, each one a testament to the love and devotion she showered upon them: Alex, Matthew, Sophie, Claire, Jules, Joseph, Henry and Ellie; her surviving siblings: Samira, Adnan (Amal), Marie and George (Berthe) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, whom she deeply cherished.
A funeral mass for Najat will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 1634 Victory Blvd, New York, NY 10314. Following the funeral mass will be a committal service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Ave, New York, NY 10309.

Though she will be deeply missed, we are greatly comforted by the certainty that she is enjoying eternity with our Heavenly Father, Christ our Lord and her love and light will shine on forever in our hearts.
