A lifelong resident, born in Rosebank in 1936, passed away after a long fight, peacefully in his sleep. Nick was a graduate of McKee High School. After serving in the army, Nick worked for Regency Tomography as a printer. Eventually, Nick joined NY’s bravest, FDNY, and retired from Engine 166. Nick worked at Casey McCallum Rice as a hearse driver for many years.
Nick is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann Vitaliano Colangelo, his 2 sons, Nicholas and Richard, and his daughter-in-laws, Kari and Gail. Nick had 5 grandchildren, Kristy, Rachel, Nicky, Ava, and Caroline. Nick was also a great-grandfather to Finley and Declan.
Nick was always supporting his grandchildren in their sports, and theater events, he traveled to Atlantic City with his wife for years. Nick was a committed member of the CRGC and the Padre Pio Society for several years. Nick was always making people laugh and loved his family unconditionally. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A visitation for Nicholas will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 10:45 AM at St Teresa Church, 1634 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10314.
