Nicholas J. DeSandis

Born and raised in Brooklyn he graduated from New Utrecht High School. He moved to Great Kills in 1964 where he resided until his passing.

He served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant from 1952-1956.

He was employed by the New York Telephone Company for over 35 years and retired as an Engineer. He was also a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Nick enjoyed spending time with family and friends vacationing in Europe and summers on the Jersey Shore.

Active in the community he spent many years as a Manager and Coach also serving on the Board of Directors at the Great Kills Little League. He was a member of the Tottenville Football Fathers Club as well as a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign War.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Madeline, son Thomas, and grandson Nicholas Robert.

Survived by his son Robert, daughter Jill, brother Joseph, and his cherished granddaughter Kaitlyn Elizabeth.

A visitation for Nicholas will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 31, 2023 at 9:45 AM at St. Clare Church, 110 Nelson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10308. A committal service will occur Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11:15 AM at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10309.
