I have only the fondest of memories of my Aunt Norma.  I recall as a young boy her showing me how to set a table while also bugging me to stand up straight.  Occasionally she would baby sit for my brother and I and always spoiled us with gifts and presents.

When I was older and not living nearby I would hear from my parents about the wonderful meals that she had created  for them especially around the holidays like  thanksgiving.  Norma was always the perfect hostess and I think my Mom was  a bit jealous.

After my father Fred died,  my wife Beth and I had the good fortune of getting together with Norma at her home once a year for what she called â€œteaâ€ but in actuality was this huge feast fit for a king.  I so enjoyed hearing her tell of her childhood in Brooklyn and Staten Island and what went on between her siblings. Always lots of laughs.  Last year we managed to still have a wonderful exchange by using a pad of paper to overcome her severe hearing loss

Although I personally am not religious, Norma was clearly very devout and the Lord was constantly on her lips, in her heart and on her mind.

She told me many times how appreciative she was of all the wonderful care she had received since Bart had died and falls had made it difficult for her to in care for herself. Although lately at times she got terribly confused, I know that deep down she knew that she could not have survived without all the loving care and help that she received from others. So I would add my thanks to hers.

Norma had a good, long, devout, loving and productive life. She will be missed by all of us who loved her.
Goodbye my dear sweet Aunt.  We will miss you.
