

Devoted wife, mother and grandmother
Olga (nee Costa) Leonardi passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, in Staten Island at the age of 75.
Olga was born on Sept. 1, 1942, to Pietro and Ida Costa, in Parma, Italy. At the age of 16, she immigrated to New York and settled with her family in the Dongan Hills area of Staten Island.
Mrs. Leonardi earned a degree from New Dorp High School before beginning a career as a seamstress in Manhattan. She worked for many years at the Rogers Peet Department store on 5th Avenue.
Olga enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, and telling stories about growing up in Italy after World War II. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren, Arabella and Christian.
Mrs. Leonardi is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ugo Leonardi; her only daughter, Tania, and son-in-law, Kevin Troy, as well as a sister, Gemma Tambini, brother, Dario Costa, sister-in-law, Luisa Costa, and many heartbroken nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Corrado Costa.
Viewing will be at Virginia Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral will take place on Thursday, Nov. 9. A Mass will take place at St. Ann's Church in Dongan Hills, 10 AM, followed by entombment in Moravian Cemetery.
