Sadly, native Staten Islander, Patricia Ann Hoza (nee Smith) passed away on June 26, 2019.She was 86. Born November 29, 1932, she was the daughter of Rody and Robert Smith. From the time she was a child, she was a lover of animals. Although she always a maintained a home on Staten Island, Patsy, as she was known, moved to the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania where her husband had built a home with plenty of space for her beloved animals. At one time she had two horses, two dogs and two cats and loved to feed the deer too. Patsy graduated from St. John’s Villa Academy and began her working career at Bethlehem Steel Co., on Staten Island. When that closed she had a wonderful career working on Wall Street for Smith Barney. Her husband, Frank Hoza, predeceased her in 2008, as did her siblings, Eileen Shaughnessy (Neil), Gertrude Moore (Robert), Rosemary Stoffers (Charles) and Robert Smith (Carol). She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was so fortunate to have the most wonderful neighbors, Eileen and Chuck Huther and their daughter, Marion and son, Josh who helped her so much and treated her like one of their own.
The family will receive visitors Friday, June 28 from 4pm-8pm at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, NY . Funeral services will be Saturday, June 29 at 10am at Holy Child Roman Catholic Church, 4747 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY 10312. Interment will be at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Road, Staten Island, NY 10306.
