God bless you Mr. Gillespie. This is Ray Texidor, otherwise known as "Tex" and I found out recently from Susan, that you passed away in June of 2013. Susan and I fell out of touch with other for many years (25 years, to be exact) and she just recently - two months ago - contacted me through Facebook, and we have started to rekindle our friendship/romance. The news of your passing, saddened me, and I would just like to tell you how grateful I am that you mentioned me favorably to Susan several times, she told so. She has always been an enigmatic person to me, and our meeting again has brought me much joy and happiness. Mr. Gillespie, your daughter Susan is a beautiful spirit, and I will do you and her honor by cherishing her for the remainder of my days, as I have done all of my life, since she and I met in 1972. May God bless you and keep you always, Sir. And, may you give Susan and I your blessings from beyond as I send you my blessings from here. Rest in peace, Mr. G., rest in peace.

Wow! Paddy Gillespie was truly one of the finest Irishmen to walk this earth. I remember him vividly from the 8 years I worked at the Cemetery Office, and my brother John worked side by side with him for about 10 years. He will feel terrible when I tell him of Paddy's passing. His love for his family - Susan, Patty, Mary -was so lovely! All the best memories Paddy, may you rest in peace!!

Patrick was my upstairs neighbor at 610. My husband and I always saw him when he took his regular walk down Castleton Ave. while we were walking our dogs. We'll miss seeing him around the neighborhood. Our sincere condolences to you & your family.

Mr.Gillespie was a great man. To rise his girls by himself was an all some task. GOD took him home to rest.

Paddy is a 1st cousin to my Grandfather, John. I believe he was his godfather. They both came from Kilcar separately although were close here in America. I remember Paddy fondly as a lovely generous man with a huge heart who was always kind to me... always.

Pat Gillespie is my Dad. There never was and there never will be anyone else like him. He was a true gentleman and loved his family with all his heart. We will miss him more than can be imagined. I love you Daddy. xo

Patty was a great guy. We all enjoyed him as kids when he entertained us at the Byrne's family events. He was truly a loving father and lovely man.

My late brother Gary and I worked at St. Peters Cemetery with Patty. It was a pleasure to know him, and he always had a great smile and greeting whenever I saw him. He was the best backhoe operator I ever saw. He could make that machine dance if he wanted it to do so! He taught Gary to operate machinery, which led him to the Operating Engineers before he went on to the FDNY. RIP Patty until we all meet again! Respectfully, Clifford Gibbs

Susan,  I am so sorry about your loss.  I remember when my mom died and i had gone to the cemetery the next day  and he saw me and i started crying and and I said  to him  please dont lose her and he just hugged me....Its so hard Sue I know, no matter what age..my thoughts and prayers are with your family and you of  course.
