

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Patsy DeFilippi, 80, of Annadale, a retired mason and shop steward who loved watching his grandchildren play sports, died Friday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.
Born in Mariners Harbor, Mr. DeFilippi also lived in Brooklyn and attended Abraham Lincoln High School there. He served in the Army during the Korean War, and settled in Annadale in 1973.
Mr. DeFilippi was a mason and shop steward for the New York City Department of Education.
He liked listening to the music of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. He also loved to play cards with his friends and family and he enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Marie Cucchiara; three daughters, Maria Broecker, Elizabeth Paramonte and Patricia Contrabasso; three sisters, Sadie Pesce, Gloria Tamborino and Eleanor Monaco, and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. John Neumann R.C. Church, Greenridge. Burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood.
