Born and raised in Rosebank, he moved to South Beach several years ago.
Mr. Burke worked for 20 years as a self-employed painting contractor. Mr. Burke graduated from St. Peter's Boys High School, New Brighton.
"We will miss his sense of humor, his wonderful stories and his love for his family," said his brother, James T. Burke Jr.
Along with his brother, James T., also surviving are his father, James T. Burke Sr., and another brother, Steven.
The funeral will be Friday from the Casey Funeral Home, Casleton Corners, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Rosebank. Arrangements include cremation.
