Paul Castaldo 1955 - 2021 It is with great sadness that the family of Paul L. Castaldo announce his passing which took place on January 15th, 2021. He was a hardworking man, a devoted husband to his wife, and a wonderfully loving father to his children. He was a native resident of Westerleigh his entire life. Paul was a graduate of McKee High School class of 1973. Paul was a Firefighter for FDNY Ladder Co. 83. He participated in the rescue efforts of 9/11. After retiring he worked at Pioneer Transportation. Paul took great pride in spending time and taking care of his late mother Lillian Castaldo. He enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life such as spending time with his family, going out Saturday nights with his wife, working out, weekend getaways to Atlantic City, or just relaxing in his backyard by the pool. Paul will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor, and always being there for his family and friends. Paul is survived by his wife of 34 years, Debora, his son Daniel, and his daughter Pauline. Cherished brother to Janet VanPelt and Thomas Castaldo. Adored brother-in-law. Beloved uncle to eleven nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and nephews. We will hold his memory deep in our hearts and his legacy will endure forever. Visitation will be Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Casey Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday January 21st 10:30 am at Holy Family Church, 366 Watchogue Rd. 10314.

With all my heartfelt condolences Paulie was one of the best friends of Tony Gatto which in turn made him special to both of us ... Being a part of Tony’s life now we all promise to get together for a weekend in Atlantic City so I could finally meet Debbie and enjoy making new memories together. Tony would talk to Paulie every week and dream about boats and a house on the water in New Jersey ... he absolutely loved his family and even though this pandemic kept us from meeting I felt I knew everyone from listening to conversations. He will be missed and never forgotten.... my heart is broken for all of you. Please find strength in all the beautiful memories you share , the love you all share will always be there and he will always be looking over you forever. I lost my husband of 34 years to a horrible disease 5 years ago and I know now ... their memories ever leave us ... you will get signs everyday that will let you all know he is still watching over all of you ... Again I am so sad and so sorry for all of you and my heart and prayers are with you all ... I’m sending love always to all of you always ...
