Born in Portsmouth, N.H., he had lived in various communities on the Island before moving to Harbor Terrace Assisted Living in New Brighton.
Mr. Vadis was a teacher, and worked as a substitute at different schools He stopped working due to illness.
He was an avid reader.
In his younger years, he attended Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Bulls Head.
Mr. Vadis is survived by his sister, Zanith Brunda.
The funeral will be Tuesday, with the liturgy at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Church. Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, N.J. Arrangements are being handled by the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners.
