Philip Kaplan, 87 Philip Kaplan was born in New Rochelle on July 7, 1933. As a young man he settled in Staten Island where he practiced law for over 50 years at his law firm located at 350 Saint Marks Place. His goal as an attorney was to advocate for those who were in need as well as anyone who needed his assistance. He was a member of the liberal party, and acted as counsel for over 20 years. He was very kind and understanding to everyone he knew. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Gina Kaplan, also known as Rose Phelps; his sister Amy Moran; his daughter Jessica Taccetta; and two sons Michael Kaplan and Mark Kaplan; 2 stepchildren, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter . He will be missed by all who knew him as the kind, gentle, loving man he was. Services will be held at Casey Funeral Home. Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 14 from 4 -7 p.m. Interment is Friday, Jan 15, at 9:30 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 80 Commerce St., Hawthorne, N.Y.

So very sorry to hear about Phil Kaplan's passing. I knew him to be a very kind and wonderful man. I actually was a next door neighbor of his in Port Richmond many years ago and often babysat his children back then. My sincere condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.
