Phyllis M. Kotler, a kind-hearted, selfless, and compassionate soul, passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on December 6, 1959, in Staten Island, New York, Phyllis was a beloved resident of New Springville.
Phyllis attended Susan Wagner High School and later embarked on a career with Pioneer Transportation and Village Car Service, where she met the love of her life in March of 1986. It was love at first sight. Phyllis and Edward shared a beautiful journey, having known each other for 39 years and being married for 25 of those years.
Her gentle and thoughtful nature extended to all creatures, as she was known for taking care of abandoned animals, ensuring all God's creatures were fed and nurtured. She had a special bond with a cat named Spooky, who visited her home daily and Edward will continue taking care of him everyday, and her beloved pets Max, Prince, Zoey, and Rocky.
Phyllis also dedicated her time to community service, volunteering at St. Alban's Episcopal Church. She will be remembered as the friendliest person ever and will surely be missed by all who knew her.
Phyllis leaves behind her beloved sister Susan, her brother Vernon, her nieces Susan, Yvonne, and Rosalie, and her nephew Christopher. She was predeceased by her sister Diane Cotter, her sister Carole, and her brother Charles DeBoer.
