

Born Phyllis Mazziota in Manhattan, she moved to Sunnyside with family when she was nine years old.
After graduating from Curtis High School, she studied interior decorating and design.
She and her husband, Daniel Litwinka, owned and operated Daniel’s Upholstery and Decorating Shop in Concord for more than 50 years.
“Through her profession, she passed through many people’s lives and brought a little joy to all of them,’’ said her daughter, Phyllis A. Litwinka. “She was just a very kind, very gentle, very caring person.’’
Mrs. Litwinka loved ballroom dancing and had been a member of the Staten Island Ballroom Dancers
She also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing board games and creating flower arrangements.
Her husband, Daniel, died in 1997. They had been married for 55 years.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Brighton.
