
Mr. Guadagno grew up in Flatbush, Brooklyn, and moved to New Dorp in 1970. He settled in New Jersey eight years later.
For more than four decades, Mr. Guadagno worked as a carpenter, starting out at the age of 15. He worked for the New York District Council of Carpenters Local 608 and Hennington Construction in Manhattan, retiring in 1995.
Mr. Guadagno was an avid fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Mets.
A skilled woodworker, Mr. Guadagno enjoyed cabinet making and antique carpentry. He was also interested in astronomy.
He was proud family man and had a very good sense of humor, said his children. He was also a doting grandfather, they said.
Mr. Guadagno was a member of the Knights of Columbus. From 1974 to 1978, he was a leader of Boy Scout Troop 214 at St. Charles R.C. Church, Oakwood.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, the former Lucille Monello; his sons, Richard and Robert; a daughter, Donna Schone; his mother, Sophie Guadagno; his brothers, Louis and Joseph Guadagno; a sister, Patricia Witt, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday from the Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge, N.J., with a mass at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Manalapan, N.J. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, South Brunswick, N.J.
