Born in Manhattan, he moved to Midland Beach in 1958, then settled in Dongan Hills.
Mr. Rogers worked in construction as a metal lather. He was a member of Local 46, Wood, Wire and Metal Lathers International Union.
He was a member of a Knights of Columbus Council in Richmond.
Mr. Rogers was a longtime parishioner of St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Dongan Hills.
His wife of 55 years, the former Rose Marie Harris, died in 2000. His son, Richard, died in 2003.
Surviving are his son, Robert Jr.; his daughter, Rose Ann DiClemente; eight grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be tomorrow from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
