Robin fiercely loved her husband, Bradley Newell, her daughter, Liz Modena, her grandchildren, Justine and Vivian Modena, her son-in-law Eric Modena, as well as The Beatles, The New York Yankees and The Rolling Stones.
A true New Yorker, Robin grew up on the Lower East Side and lived in Queens prior to moving to Staten Island in 1978. After raising her daughter and working at several businesses on Victory Boulevard she was a fixture at the College of Staten Island, first as a cashier in the cafeteria, then as an undergraduate in the American Studies department, and finally as a tutor in the English Department, sharing her love of language with new college students. She enjoyed her retirement at home with Bradley, her husband of 52 years.
Those closest to her will miss the pride and delight Robin took in her family and the beauty and the silliness that she would find in day-to-day life.
In lieu of flowers a donation to the Wildlife Conservation Society can be made in Robin’s memory. https://www.wcs.org/support
