Ronald Leoncini, a devoted and cherished father of four children, Alicia Leoncini, Baby Jamie Leoncini, Ronald Leoncini, Jr., and David Leoncini, and a beloved grandfather of four, Victoria, Alexandria, Eli, and Chloe, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024, at the age of 77. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be admired by his family and friends.
Ronald was born on October 10, 1946, and grew up in Newton, N.J., where he loved to pick strawberries from the fields. He also enlisted into the military and joined the Air Force serving his country with courage, dedication, and sacrifice. Even beyond his service, the values instilled during his time in the Air Force continued to guide his actions, inspiring others with his unwavering loyalty, integrity, and selflessness.
Some of his favorite ways to spend his spare time were taking walks by the Alice Austin House to get a good view of the water, he would take trips to Montalbanos for his cold cuts, loved to cook his favorite Italian meals, he always wanted to garden his own fruits and vegetables any chance he got, and fed any squirrels or birds that would stop by to pay him a visit.
In 2003, Ronald began his lifelong career at the Staten Island University Hospital where he continued to grow his second family little did he know that his coworkers were going to fill his life with unconditional love and support that kept him working for over 20 years. He considered his job to be one of his absolute favorite hobbies and worked so hard with such passion. He loved every patient that he helped and was always eager to meet new people while building upon old relationships by being a great listener and being the person that everyone found peace and comfort in.
His story is one full of love, he was surrounded by love and loved everyone he surrounded himself with. One of the ways he would show that he cared most would be by asking “What’s for dinner?”, making sure that everyone had a full stomach along with a full heart.
May God have mercy on his beautiful soul.
