Rosanne Barisciano, a life long Staten Island resident, passed away on March 11. She was born and grew up in Thompskinsville. She graduated from Curtis High School and attended Temple University. She worked for many years at Thompkinsville Pharmacy before becoming a project manager for AT&T. She married the love of her life, Larry Barisciano, in 1971 and she is now reunited with him in Heaven. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Elmer “Tex” Clancy and Rose Margarella Clancy, her brother Gregory Clancy, and aunt, Irene McCarthy. She is survived by her son, Larry Barisciano Jr., her son-in-law, Ronald Dix, her sister-in-law, Joann Clancy, nephews Dillon Clancy and Austin Moss, and niece, Alessandra Moss.
Rosanne was very dedicated to junior bowling on Staten Island. She co-founded PENRO Junior Bowlers which ran for decades at Country Lanes. She was also a founding officer of the Staten Island Young American Bowling Alliance in 1987. She cofounded the Staten Island Touring Junior Bowlers tournament circuit in 1988. She was a dedicated bowling coach and, as part of PENRO, was the first junior league on Staten Island to use certified coach instructors to offer instruction on a weekly basis. She was inducted into the Staten Island Bowling Hall of Fame for her contributions to junior bowling.
Her other passion was genealogy. She often joked that she enjoyed dead people more than living ones. She was deeply skilled at researching family trees and digging up interesting and obscure historical information. She was admired by many for her historical contribution to various groups dedicated to remembering the past on Staten Island.
