Santo Gramando

Born in Manhattan, he grew up in Dongan Hills. He settled in Sunnyside in 1972.

Mr. Gramando served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Cespino-Russo Post, American Legion, and the Korean War Veterans Association.

He first worked as a longshoreman, then became a mechanic for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 30 years.

Mr. Gramando belonged to the Arrochar Friendship Club.

Devoted to his family, he loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gramando was a parishioner of St. Teresa's R.C. Church, Castleton Corners.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan; his sons, Santo Jr. and Joseph; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Friday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Teresa's Church. Arrangements include cremation.
