Sarah A. Gruenberg

Sarah Ann (Sally) Gruenberg, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at her home in Great Kills, Staten Island, NY, surrounded by family. She will be deeply missed by countless family members and friends. Sally, or Cha Cha as she was fondly known, will join her beloved husband William (Bill) Gruenberg, loving parents James Graham and Sarah Ann Graham-McGinty, and siblings Helen Rink, Mary (Maureen) McAllister and James T. Graham in eternal rest. Sally leaves behind many family members, including nieces and nephews and even more grandnieces and nephews who loved her dearly and will continue to celebrate her life through decades of cherished memories. Sally lived a life full of wonderful experiences, whether traveling the world, going to casinos, or crabbing on her and Bill’s boat. But, above all, Sally enjoyed spending time with those she loved. Sally was proud of her Scottish heritage and familial roots, and her nieces and nephews knew Cha Cha cared for them as if they were her own. Sally illustrated the true meaning of unconditional love, sharing her praise and joy and also her whit when showing her disapproval. Sally enjoyed the little things in life- like planting Easter flowers and watching them bloom throughout the season or chit-chatting with whomever she crossed paths. Sally was a wealth of knowledge and information and shared that knowledge through reminiscing about life and telling stories with her family members and friends. These stories will live on through Sally’s loved ones, who will hold closely the fond memories shared by and with her.
