STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Funeral services have been set for Dongan Hills resident Scott Jacobi, 37, who was found dead Friday.
Mr. Jacobi was born in New Brunswick, N.J. He moved to Eltingville with family in 1979 and settled in Dongan Hills in 2009.
A graduate of Tottenville High School, he attended New York Institute of Technology in Brooklyn.
Mr. Jacobi had worked as a plant inspector for 15 years for Verizon in the Bronx.
An Eagle Scout, he had volunteered with the Red Cross after 9/11, and assisted neighbors after Hurricane Sandy, his family said.
He restored his 1966 Mustang with the help of his father, James. He also enjoyed Indy car racing, traveling and skydiving.
Mr. Jacobi was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills.
Surviving, along with his father, James, are his mother, Patricia, and his brother, James.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare's Church. Arrangements include cremation.
