Sergio Aime

Sergio Aime, lovingly known as Pop Pop, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, in Plant City, Florida, at the remarkable age of 102. He was the beloved husband of Virginia Aime, son of Clelia and Angelo Aime, and the brother of Aldo and Mariuccia, all of whom preceded him in death.

Born on January 28, 1923, in Canale d’Agordo, Italy, Sergio grew up in the beautiful province of Belluno, surrounded by mountains that shaped his gentle strength and enduring spirit. He then moved to Brooklyn, New York with his wife Virginia, where he built a life rooted in hard work, humor, good food, wine, friends, and family. A talented mechanical engineer, he brought creativity and care to everything he did, from building furniture and birdhouses to tending his garden of fruits and vegetables.For the past fifteen years, Sergio lived in Plant City with his loving family.

He is survived by his children, John Aime (Patricia Aime) and Robert Angelo Aimetti; grandchildren Anna Allsgood (Vell Allsgood), Kari Evans (Jeffrey Evans), John Aime Jr. (Charlotte Thompson), and Gabriella Aime; and great-grandson E.J. Allsgood.

Sergio was known for his intelligence, humor, and gentle heart, always bringing a smile to those around him.

A visitation will take place at Casey Funeral Home, located at 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314, US, on November 7, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The committal service will be held at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Rd, New York, NY 10306, US, on November 8, 2025, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
