Socorro DeJesus lovely known as mama was a kind and gentle woman but don't try to share her kitchen. She expressed her love through her food. She was a very good cook and cooked the best rice and beans l have ever eaten. She would not sit down to eat until everyone else was satisfied. She was a great mother to her daughters and a wonderful grandmother to her grandsons. Family came first but she expressed that love beyond her immediate family. Although l could not speak Spanish and her English was not so good, l could feel her loving care each time l was in her home or in her company. We always found a way to communicate and we shared quite a few laughs. I loved and respected her. I will continue to have a great respect for her. Her memory will be with me, until my memory is no more. May she rest in peace in the loving arms of GOD

Jackie, I remember meeting your mom at your dad's funeral and she had a sweet and quiet spirit about her, I am grateful to meet someone to remind me to have a sweet and kind spirit about myself, too. Many prayers and God's grace to you and your family during this time. Blessed are they who mourn for they shall be comforted Matt 5:4
