Stephen Joseph Beckmann was born on July 10, 1958 in Queens, NY., to Edwin and Jacqueline Beckmann. The family moved to Staten Island when Steve was a young child. There he spent the rest of his 67 years, before passing on May 4, 2026.
Steve is survived by his wife, Elyse. They met in 1980, and have been married for 42 years. Together they shared their love with their son, Christopher; their daughter, Kathryn and her husband Joseph Scala.
Steve is a graduate of Wagner College with a BS in Medical Technology. After years of working in a lab, Steve moved on to Pharmaceutical sales and marketing. When an opportunity for advancement arose, Steve took a job in Marketing with Stryker Orthopedics, eventually moving into the position of Program Manager in the Medical Education Department. He retired in 2024 after 23 years with Stryker Corporation.
In his free time, Steve enjoyed many hobbies such as playing the piano, and listening to music from Classical to Heavy Metal. He dabbled in Photography, Magic and card tricks, the Martial Arts of Karate and Judo, reading non-fiction books, and watching NY Rangers Hockey. Steve also loved traveling and exploring museums.
Most of all, Steve loved his family, and his group of friends that he’s had for over 60 years! This love is what kept him going in his 20 month battle against a horrible disease. He will be loved and missed forever, but we are happy that he is now at Peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to your favorite Charity.
