Stuart Umschweif, 69, of Great Kills, Staten Island passed away peacefully, on Thursday, November 12 after a battle with aggressive cancer. His family was by his side. Stu was recently retired, but previously worked as an Account Executive Salesman in the Information Technology industry providing institutions with IT security. He had earned both a Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Computer Science.

Stu volunteered his time throughout the years through coaching various sports teams, helping to run sports programs, and being a member of the St. Clare’s men’s club. He was an avid family man who greatly enjoyed spending time with his family including his 5 grandkids. He was an easy-going man with an infectious and attractive personality. He loved to share stories, jokes and make others smile.

Stu was born on December 14, 1950 to Irving Umschweif and Millie Kutner. Originally born in Dover, NJ, he lived with his parents in Long Island, and Queens. He settled in Staten Island after marrying Joyce Reinhardt on October 13, 1974.

I am so deeply Sorry for your loss.

A great personality left the stage of life. A true friend and especially for me, someone with big shoulders to lean on in very difficult times.

I hope, Christoph and Stu find each other again, wherever they are now.

I share your pain and hope you find the strength to get through this hard time
